Foam free design using a clear plastic pin holder

A clear plastic pin holder where the needles are hard enough to help you arrange your flowers. The pin holder has 3 suckers to keep it secure.

You will need:

Any season plant material you have access to with robust stems.

Flowers: chrysanthemums, carnations, roses.

Leaves: heuchera, fatsia, hostas.

Mechanics and sundries

Clear plastic pin holder – light weight, reusable, easy to clean, water proof and won’t rust.

A shallow dish or plate.

1. Plant Material

2. Trim the bottom off the flower/leaves at an angle.

3. Push the bottom of the stems on to the pins.

4. Continue to create your design using a mixture of flowers and foliage.

5. Fill the container with just enough water to cover the pin holder and the bottom of the stems.

6. Change the water every couple of days to keep the plant material fresh and well hydrated.

 

 


Tips/seasonal modifications

  • The pin holder’s pins are quite short and don’t give a great deal of support to longer stemmed plant material.

  • Sticks well to glass and doesn’t leave any marks on your container.

  • Vary in price from £3 to £10.
