Make a grid/structure from the twigs and twine to fit over the top of the container.

Secure to the container with the elastic bands stretched from the middle point of either edge of the grid and under the container to the other side of the grid. These will form a cross under the container.

Half fill the bowl/container with water.

Loosely weave Phormium leaves through the spaces in the grid to create rhythm.

Insert ivy leaves in two groups so that the stalks are in the water and they rest on the grid/structure.

Finally, insert flowers/garden materials to give contrast of texture, form and colour.
