Eddisbury and Sandiway Flower Club

Eddisbury Flower Club changed its name to Eddisbury and Sandiway Flower club in 2019 to reflect the area in which our meetings are held. The club was formed over 60 years ago in 1959 and continues to be an active and friendly club. We have approximately 60 members most of whom attend on a regular basis.

We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, excluding January and August. In October we hold our AGM and that is usually followed by a Speaker and tea and cake!

These meetings take place at St John’s Church Hall, Norley Road, Sandiway, CW8 2JX at 2pm. The doors open at 1.20pm to allow members to have a chat, look at and hopefully purchase items from our Sales table and also to have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets (the demonstrator’s arrangements are the prizes). Afterwards there is a cup of tea, a chance to look more closely at the demonstrator’s work as well as meeting other club members.

The subscriptions are £30 for the year plus £2.50 per meeting. Visitors are always welcome and pay £5, which includes refreshments after the demonstration.

During the year we have 2 club competitions, a summer themed one and a Christmas one. We also have a beginners’ competition to encourage the less confident arrangers amongst us to have a go ....... after all it is meant to be fun, not a daunting prospect!

We endeavour to have 1 or 2 club trips during the year to gardens or flower festivals. We have in the past been to see Chatsworth, Shugborough and Attingham Park to see the homes decked out for Christmas We also have our own plant sale at the May meeting and on occasions a fund raising or social event.
