The Eddisbury and Sandiway Flower Club was formed nearly 65 years ago in 1959 and continues to be an active and friendly club. We have approximately 80 members most of whom attend on a regular basis.
We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, excluding January and August. In October we hold our AGM and this is usually followed by a Speaker and tea and cake!
Our Meetings take place at: Owley Wood Recreational Club, Barrymore Road, Weaverham, Northwich, C W8 3LS
Meetings start at 2pm. The doors open at 1.30pm to allow members time to have a chat, look at and hopefully buy items from our Sales Table and also to have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets (the demonstrator’s arrangements are the prizes). Afterwards there is a cup of tea, a chance to look more closely at the demonstrator’s work as well as meeting other club members.
The subscriptions are £30 for the year plus £3 per meeting registration fee . Visitors are always welcome and pay £6 which includes refreshments after the demonstration.
During the year we hold competitions and workshops. We occasionally arrange club outings . In the past we have been to Chatsworth House, Shugborough and Attingham Park to see the homes decked out for Christmas. We also have a plant sale at the May meeting and on occasions a fund raising or social event. Jigsaw swaps, a “reduce, reuse, recycle table “, Club lunches and other events also form part of club activities. We are certainly a thriving, happy and friendly club. From August 2024 we will start to celebrate our Blue Sapphire (65 years) anniversary. You can be sure there will be some treats in store!

How do 12 ladies devour 3 pavlovas in one afternoon? Simple! Announce a workshop to complete a pavé design, add one hard of hearing lady, a dash of confusion and a brilliant chair woman who picks up an idea and runs with it. Result, a lot of fun, laughter and creative work at Eddisbury and Sandiway Flower Club’s Autumn workshop. Our dear member, Cathy, thought we were talking about pavlova, so Anne made it happen and we enjoyed delicious refreshments.
Eddisbury hosts seasonal workshops for members and visitors. These are suitable for all abilities. If you are new to flower arranging then these friendly, supportive workshops are exactly what you need. You can fiddle with flowers, ask questions and learn a new skill in a friendly, non threatening environment.
Our workshops are starting to fill up very quickly but we are happy to put names on the waiting list in case a space crops up. If you would like to join us for workshops, please contact Jean Jones on 07795555492

Fifteen members and guests of Eddisbury and Sandiway Flower Club enjoyed an afternoon of fun, friendship and relaxing with flowers as they started their Christmas Preparations.
Those attending had the choice of making a table decoration or door wreath. We all thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon which was led by Club members June Shallcross and Jean Jones.
We are planning on holding more seasonal workshops this year. If you would like more information about these or are interested in visiting/joining our friendly club then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
