Handbridge Flower Club
The Handbridge Flower Club meets on the third Thursday of the month, starting at 1.45pm at St Mary’s Handbridge Centre, except August and December. Annual subscription is £60, which equates to £6 per meeting (where do you get a relaxing and creative afternoon for less than the price of coffee and cake?) We ask just £10 per session for visitors and we ask that visitors join the club after two visits with your subscription being adjusted accordingly. All visitors are assured to receive a warm welcome from the Committee and current members.
It is a friendly club that was established over 30 years ago with some of the founder members still in attendance today. As well as demonstrations from award winning florists and floral designers there is a raffle offering the opportunity to win one of these designs. There have been several workshop opportunities where a demonstration is given first and then you have the opportunity to create your own design to take home. We also have a book table and information board with useful flower arranging tips, up-coming events, news items and contacts.
Following our AGM on 18th January we are pleased to announce that our new President is Dawn Weaver, who in addition to being our most recent past Chair is a NAFAS National Demonstrator. We are thrilled that Dawn is continuing to support the club in addition to her busy schedule of demonstrations and teaching. The new Chair for 2024 is Janet Edwards who is supported by an enthusiastic committee who extend a warm welcome to existing and new members.
