Mechanics and sundries - Holders
Stem twister – the hole diameters are approx. 1cm and made from durable plastic and a vase.
Mechanics and sundries - Holders Flipped
1. Align the points on the stem twister so the holes in the top and bottom sections are above each other.
2. Insert the flower and foliage stems into the holes - one by one.
3. Hold the stems at the bottom.
4. Narrow stems will easily fall through – if this happens combine large and small stems together through the same hole.
5. Continue to add all your plant material.
6. Rotate and twist the top section of the stem holder until the stems have twisted.
7. The integrated spiral design of the stem holder ensures the stems are held securely.
8. Trim the excess off the stems
9. Place the flowers and stem holder in a vase of water
Tips/seasonal modifications
-
Hold the stems underneath the bottom of the stem hole once you have pushed them through the holes.
-
Has a similar effect to a hand tie with spiral stems but is must easier to hold and create.
-
The stem twister enables a beginner to arrange flowers easily in a vase without the flowers flopping over.
-
If the desired effect isn’t quite achieved the flowers can easily be removed and replaced without damaging them. This is not so easily done using floral foam.
-
The stem holder can be washed in hot soapy water and reused many times.
-
Vary in price from £2 to £5.
