A Simple Table Arrangement - Designed by Sally Dyke

You will need:

2 stems of spray chrysanthemums * 9 small roses * A selection of grey and burgundy foliage plus 2 ferns * A square/round plastic dish * 1/3 of a block of floral foam - soaked * Pot tape to go completely round the dish and floral foam

Select a square or round plastic dish, 1/3 block of floral foam and sufficient pot tape.

Cut the 2 ferns to the same length and insert into the narrow sides of the foam to create the required length of design.

Add some short pieces of burgundy foliage to the other 2 sides to create the breath of design. Cotinus coggygria is shown here but Heuchera or hebe could be an alternative. Then add some short pieces of Sennecio greyeii to create an oval shape.

Cover most of the floral foam with more foliage but keep the design low. Leucothoe and Cytisus battandieri are shown here but any other small leafed foliage may be used.

Cut individual stems off the main stem of chrysanthemum and place then in the floral foam leaving space between each head.

Add roses cut short in between the single chrysanthemums.

A few pieces of spray carnation may be added or Persicaria bistorta - the Pink fluffy material. But remember to leave space around each flower. Don't forget to add water to the dish once your design is completed.
